I need to buy a new notebook for university, (engineering). I will be using all kind of readers (word, PDFs, cbr), internet (chrome with many opened tabs), sometimes excel or matlab and other softwares, rarely photoshop or modeling softwares (CAD). I have two options: asus ux303ub-r4182t and ux303ub-r4183r; both have 256Gb ssd, and very similar specificatios but one ha i7-6500u and the other i5-6200u; which one do you suggest is better? the price difference is very low (30 eu) but I was wondering if an i5 cpu was better in terms of duration of the battery, which is a very important factor as in university we don't have many plugs. thank you

Solution
If the price difference is only that much, get the i7!

Battery wise they are the same with minimal use, since both idle at the same. With more demanding use, the i7 can sometimes have better battery life since it gets things done quicker and then returns to idle. For continuous use (CPU constantly at 30%+, the i7 might have a bit less battery life. In all cases we're talking about minutes when the duration is in hours
