Hi there,
I’ve just finished building my first pc, and i’ve come across a problem when starting the computer, there’s a error 99 on the q code.
System specs :-
Asus ROG viii Hero alpha (S/N FBM0AJ212129), bought from amazon.
Intel 6700k, bought from amazon
Corsair vengeance LPX 2x8gb, bought from amazon
Asus STRIX 1070
And a corsair h110i GT cooler

and I have narrowed it down to the motherboard, cpu or memory, I tried without any rams and it gave me a 53 error. Tried one ram individually and they both gave me a 99 error, there’s no signal going into the monitor at any point in this. So I don’t really know the BIOS version, i’ve tried BIOS flashback but that also did not work.
Any suggestions?

at the moment i've got the pump plugged into the usb 2.0 header at the bottom of the mobo and also a 3-pin header on the cpu header, the radiator fans are plugged into the 2 4 pin connectors coming from the pump itself... i've followed the manual .... i hope :)

is this wrong?

ok i've managed to get onto the boot screen and it is displaying a cpu fan not detected on my monitor... i switched it off immediately as i dont want any problems with the cpu overheating.

it's still displaying 99 on the q code but i'm almost certain its the cooler, and i've noticed that it's not pumping, although the leds are lighting up on the cooler, could it be my mini usb connector thats not plugged in properly?
or could it be that its not pumping due to low temps?
it's only been on for 30-60 seconds max before i shut it down incase of cpu overheating.

so the 3 pin to any case fan header and the two 4 pins from the radiator to the cpu headers?

thank you for your help, this means a lot to me as i need this for my work (physics and computational science)

everything was connected, so that is cpu, cpu cooler, 2x8gb ram, graphics card and a 120gb m.2 ssd.
keyboard and mouse connected and also displayport connected to graphics card.

this produced an error 99 on the q code with no signal on the monitor.

literally the only difference was a windows start up usb stick was also plugged in, this could potentially mean that something wasnt sitting right or that the us start up influenced the motherboard in some way.

i must also note that when it did finally boot up it still showed error 99 when my 3 pin connector was in the water pump header, im pretty sure it changed to a9 ("start of setup") when i swaped it into the cpu fan header.
and has been a0 ever since i've installed windows onto my ssd.
