Hello everyone, one week ago I bought a GTX 970 GAMING G1, the problem was that in games like cs: go or league of legends had low fps with low use of GPU. I tried to solve all the way, asking for help in various forums, but to no avail, the GPU did not rise above 40% utilization. I have a I5 4690K CPU, with 750 Pro PSU XFX Core edition, so do not think I have the problem of the bottleneck. I eventually returned the GTX 970, and now I'm undecided what to buy. I was going to buy a gtx 1060, but which model? I'm afraid to encounter the same problem even with this. Appearance of your advice!

Sorry for my english I'm italian :(

drimez,

The war between 1060 & 480 is at a snail pace. Their aftermarket cards are slow to release or they are "sold-out".
Each of them has their pros & cons (& FAN base). Study their standard spec and know their $$$, will help you later on when choosing an aftermarket version.

One of my preference.. is the GTX 1070, if you can't get a hold of the either cards.

Have you upgrade to a SSD and max out your memories?

Thank you all for the replies!

Hi NextGear, For now I do not have enough money to buy a GTX 1070, for what I opted for 1060. My only concern is that it is not used at 100% from my computer as my old GTX 970, it is possible to happen? I have a SSD CORSAIR FORCE 3 and RAM 8GB Corsair Vengeance Blue 1600Mhz.

drimez,

Do to supply & demand & greed, i have seen some 1060 & 480 price as high as a 1070. So, keep that in mind and don't rush out and grab 1060 or 480 just yet. DON'T START WASTING YOUR HARD earn money just yet

Regarding your concern of utilizing your video card is "YES"... if your motherboard has an older PCIe Express slot, you won't be able to maximize all features from your new video card.

If you have an older 60Hz monitor, look into a new 144hz monitor (might help you w/ your gaming experiences)

Ram: Corsair Vengeance Blue 1333Mhz (XMP Profile 1600Mhz 1.50v)

O my god. Only 3500MHz, why?
As you can see from CPU-Z the multiplier is 8-42, but the frequency is locked to 3500MHz

The core clock was stable, but at some point I had to stop the test, temperatures skyrocketed.

If you mean the BCLK is 100 MHz

Excuse me maybe I misunderstood, if you mean the factory speed is 3500MHz, with turboboost 3900Mhz

drimez,

Thank for running the test and posting them.
All your equipment is up to par, stick with your original plan (for a new video card).

My only suggestion, is to keep your drivers update + your family chip set

for the video card 1060 or 480.. just get one with "overclock" or "super overclock" unlock features.. don't get play into their fancy cooling fans.
Stay within your budget and happy gaming
