I finally finsh my built PC and when I was in the bios to set everything up I couldn't find the hard drive, I check my sata connectors and it said not present. I switch the sata cables and the power cable and moves the cable to various sata ports and the bios does not detect my HDD I go to boot option and I only see my USB were my windows is located, the sata ports are enable and I just don't know, also my HDD makes clicking noises and will only spin for 10 seconds. Do I need a new hard drive?

I'm sorry for the late reply, @Nick!
Unfortunately, it does seem like your WD Blue has failed. :( You should definitely follow my recommendations from the previous post and check if by any chance the drive is still covered by the warranty, even though it has been used.
We usually don't recommend buying used mechanical hard drives as their lifespan and/or health might have been corrupted, which is most probably what you are currently experiencing with the HDD.

If this particular WD Blue is not covered by the warranty anymore, you should definitely consider replacing it with a new one.

Keep us posted if you have more questions!

A hard drive never stops spinning unless the computer is off right?

Hey there, @nickcj12!

Unfortunately, it does seem like your HDD is failing due to physical hardware failure. :( I'd strongly recommend trying to connect the drive to another system as well and check if it will get recognized there. This is the surest way to determine whether or not it's the source of the issue.
A hard drive can stop spinning and go in Standby (Sleep mode) even with the system powered up. This is something that can be configured through the power settings on your computer.
However, I'd definitely backup all the data from the clicking HDD somewhere else immediately and make sure it's safe and sound. Afterwards, check the warranty of drive and if it's still covered, you should contact the reseller's/manufacturer's customer support for further assistance with the RMA and replacement procedures.

Best of luck!
