~MSI Radeon R9 270X 2G 2GB 256-Bit GDDR5
~MSI MSI Gaming 970 Gaming ~AM3+Motherboard
~AMD FX-6300 Vishera 6-Core 3.5 GHz
~WD Blue 1TB Desktop Hard Disk Drive - 7200 RPM
~Mushkin Enhanced Reactor 2.5" 1TB (SSD)
~Corsair Hydro Series H110i GTX 280mm
~Thermaltake Core V71 Extreme Full Tower
~Corsair - CX Series Modular CX750M

so my question is this.....
should i make the switch to intel to upgrade my graphics card to a 1070/1080 or should i wait out the new zen processors and see if that upgrade will be cheaper
either way i will need a new mobo CPU and graphics card just trying not to spend a lot of money on the conversion
or i guess should i just keep what I got and upgrade my GPU even though I won't be getting 100% out of it

Thanks in advance :)

Solution
For start, you wil need new motherboard, RAM. No matters which will be your choice.

Now, in your case, i would upgrade the gpu, no matters the bottleneck created. Now, which GPU? Depends which resolution you're going to use.

After that, i would take the shot waiting ZEN and if it worth for the money.

Well if you're in no rush then waiting won't hurt. But if you want to jump into gaming (I'm assuming) soon, I suggest keeping all your components except for the processor as it will definitely bottleneck a 1070/1080.

It really depends on what do you want to do with your system. So far there are 2 solid processors out on the market, at least for me. I5 6600k for gaming and i7 6700k for video editing or content creation. Put in mind that an Intel processor runs cooler and draws less power than AMD processors.

Getting an i7 6700k for gaming makes no difference and has already been proved by a lot of tech channels at youtube as games today only uses 4 cores and does not benefit from hyper threading, well some might argue that i7 6700k might be a better option than the i5 6600k for games like Arma 3, but the 100$ leap from the i5 to i7 makes no sense if you are on a tight budget as it will only benefit on SELECTED games.

So if you are planning to game, hands down take the I5 6600k!

Yeah man waiting is always worth it. I can still remember about a month ago, I was ITCHING so much to upgrade my gt220, yeah man you read that right, gt220 for a gtx 960. Ended up that the 1060 is coming out 2 weeks from the day I decided to upgrade and I had this very disturbing feeling of not waiting and wanting to buy the 960 ASAP.

Pros: I'll have my pc 2 weeks earlier
Cons: Enjoy the first 2 weeks, probably going to regret it till my next upgade

Cheers!
