Hi, so i have a somewhat old pc and i am looking to upgrading my gpu

So i have :
A g2020 2.9GHz cpu
4GB ram
Integrated gpu
Gigabyte GA-H61M-S2PV v2.2 mobo
400W psu

Can i run a rx 460? Or a gtx 750 ti?

Both the graphics card would be bottlenecked by your CPU. The RX 460 is the latest one and it is more powerful than the 750 ti. Yes you can run both the cards.

A bottleneck will cause your games to run worse than they should! You need to get about the same Products for each CPU and GPU e.g. You would be dumb to use a GTX 1080 with a i3.

No, a bottleneck won't cause any damage. But it will stop your graphics card from preforming as well as it could. A newer CPU wouldn't bottleneck either card. You could get an i5 or i7 with a 1155 socket, if I'm not mistaken.

This would probably be a good choice. Its well rounded and not too intensive. In response to the question of which graphics card, the RX 460 is an AMD card. GTX is an nvidia brand. If the overclocked card doesn't cost much more and you think you need the extra frames, then I would probably go for it.

In this class of videocard, entry level performance, 2gb is great and no you don't need overclocking. Two reasons, first this class of card is too slow to make use of more memory. Second, this class of card is slow enough that overclocking is not going to give enough of a boost to performance to make an unplayable game playable. What I mean is if the regular clock card gets you 30fps in a game and the overclocked version gets you 35fps in a game, that's the same for all practical purposes. Those 5fps extra won't make the experience all that much better.

Adding a new card will not damage your CPU. That 'bottleneck' people mention just means that if you had a faster CPU, the videocard would perform better than it will perform with your slower CPU. Nothing gets damaged either way.
