So I have my computer and I am buying the last 3 parts that will upgrade it, and am not sure if it will all fit in my case or whatever.
Here is the pcpartpicker I have for my build: http://pcpartpicker.com/list/QW9Ncc
And here is the computer I bought a few years ago, and the current case I have: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16883220055

The case is kinda old, not sure if it will work for these upgrades.
So can anyone tell me if it would, or give me a decently cheap but high quality case?

Some other questions I have are:
Will I need to get some type of upgrade on my cooling? I feel as if it gets hot sometimes with its small fans. Is liquid cooling overkill?

Is an external sound card a good thing to buy, or install a different sound card inside?

Also, the usb ports on the front on my pc aren't 3.0, so what would I buy to upgrade them, and how do they connect?

Thanks for the help!

with cases the newer ones have removble hard drive bays or no drive bays to block long gpu. have to look at the case with to see max cpu cooler hight as some coolers are 160mm or taller. with most new cases now they have mic/headphone and two usb 3.0 ports on front. usb 3.0 will run 2.0 stuff fine. on cooling most cheap caes give you one 120mm or 140mm fan on back. for good air flow need air going over the hard drive and out the back or out the top. most new mb have 2-3 3 or 4 pin fan headers the 4 pin are pmw and can slow fans down more the n3 pin voltage fan. if...

Hi,

First of all I would replace the old case for 2 reasons: Your PC will be filled with wires inside & bad for cooling. Also as what you are saying about the USB you will need to spend more money.

So I would replace the case for other one:
1- Thermaltake Versa H25 ATX Mid Tower Case
2- Corsair SPEC-01 RED ATX
3- NZXT Source 220 ATX Mid Tower Case
4- NZXT Source 210 (White) ATX Mid Tower Case

For the cooler, I think it is better to get another one over sound card and no need for liquid as we are talking about Intel and not AMD.

Could you possibly give me a recommendation over good usb ports and what type of cooling/fan I will need?

Also any big details I should look for in a case? I like the one smorizio recommended: http://pcpartpicker.com/product/tFTrxr/rosewill-case-challengers

Not exactly a computer genious, but I like the fact there are alot of fan slots and I can adjust them, but for the most part do most the new cases come equipped to contain stuff like the gtx 970 and the other new parts?

Hi,

For a case, look for 2 things:
1- How many case fan you can install
2- Cabal Management

The case you liked is not bad because seems you can have up to 4 fans but 2 of it will be on the panel but for cable management kinda not good.

Sorry for the ports in front i dont think you can do much but since your MB have USB2 you can just connect them.

As for a cooler:
1- Noctua NH-L9x65 33.8 CFM CPU Cooler
2- Noctua NH-L12 37.8 CFM CPU Cooler
3- Cooler Master Vortex Plus 54.8 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler
