Will just any mSATA SSD work in my Ultrabook?

Hello Tom's Hardware,
I recently received my friend's broken LG Tabbook Z160.
Everything works great, except the mSATA SSD is most likely broken. It's the only thing that doesn't work, so I can't install anything.

This is the exact SSD I need.

However, I don't want to pay $80. Does anyone think I could use a cheaper drive? Aren't they all the same size?

Thanks!

the format sizes are the same. the issue is will the laptop firmware see and boot from 3 party product. if you can see what the vendor uses as spare or replacement parts. also look at online forum for upgrades for that laptop. may be able to find a larger ssd for the same price or better price.
