So I've got my Core i5 quad core tower that I was looking to sell (without an OS or drive) and wanted to know it's approximate resale value.

Here is the config:
Core i5 3470s (3.1 GHz quad)
8 GB of RAM (1 stick, but the board goes up to 32GB across 4 slots, DDR3)
GeForce GTX 970
Gigabyte Z77-DS3H ATX motherboard
PC Power & Cooling 750 watt PSU

That basically is what I would include in the sale. The case is a generic mid-tower case so it's not worth that much itself. I don't use this computer (as my laptop is able to play the games I currently have and want to play for the foreseeable future--that and I travel so much that I'm not able to use the desktop that much anyway so I pretty much use the laptop, which is a CAD laptop but works for games as well--most of the time.

Any ideas on this? I know the video card still has to be worth at least $250+ on the used market. The CPU... maybe $100-125, and the board I think I saw for about $50-60.

What do you guys think it's value is?

Without OS and drive? Maybe a total of ~350, 400 if you're lucky. The 970 is worth less than $200 now (1060 3gb is about same performance for $200), CPU is worth $75 at most (it's an S version so nobody wants one), the mobo+memory is ~60, and you'll have to discount everything because your PSU probably already damaged the other components.

For $400 I'll just keep it. It works and it can be downgraded to be a file server if needed. The video card can be transplanted into a different system (which I'm contemplating anyway, and using the old system as a server looks appealing too, as the motherboard has lots of support for adding several SSDs/HDDs for storage purposes.

As the system is 3 years old (except the video card, which is 1.5 years old) I figured it couldn't be worth more than a few hundred dollars. I mean, 3 years is a long time in terms of computing hardware, as most hardware is out of date after 2 years if not sooner.
