Hey guys.

Have a wierd issue which has me a bit stumped. Not hard but I'll elaborate so someone with more know how on the matter can educate me.

So I have my gaming rig setup and has been running fine for the last 4 years maybe an bit less. Currently using crosshair v formula z, fx8350, dual asus gtx 650 to boost with sli. Cooler Master 725ex psu.

A week ago the computer refused to turn on with a burning smell, some smoke and a nasty ticking sound like a spark going off... I immediately turned it off via pulling the power plug and after doing a table top open build diagnosed a busted 650ti boost...fair game it's old as all hell. Originally I thought it was the motherboard and was crying about losing it a mere 4 days out of warranty...ouch.

All has been good for a week and now the second card started ticking. Lo and behold...dead as corduroy.

On ithnspection there are 2 pins on there main power supply connection top the motherboard that show signs of overheating...plastic deformed but not scorched and no damage to any other pins.

Suffice to say I'm starting to suspect either motherboard or power supply or both.

Any advice? Motherboard seems to boot up fine without a gfx card installed
