Is this SSD compatible with my PC ?

Here's the concerned parts;

-MB: Z170A Tomahawk
-CPU: I5-6600k
-GPU: Asus Strix 980Ti
-And the SSD I want: Intel 750 SSD

So I read that my CPU only had 16 lanes (didn't know anything about those until now), so technically my GPU uses it all, but then I read* that when plugging a 2nd GPU in this Mobo, the 1st would be down to 8x, and the 2nd to 4x.

Now, since that SSD is 4x, If I plugged it in the 2nd 16x, would that put the GPU down to 8x and work at it's effective speed ?

Sorry if I'm not making much sense, I'm just really new to this, my sincere thanks to whoever might help me on this !

I don't think it will make it work less...

I don't think it will make it work less effectivly if one does work slower however it's probably best to have the SSD working at less of its capable speed as you will hardly notice the difference, aulthough, there will be a difference. Best thing is just to try it and see how it works, from from my understanding though, having a GPU and SSD in PCI slots should not have a 'negative' effect such as lowering the transfer rate of the slot. I'm sure it will be fine :).

Thank you for your advice, I'd try it if I could but, it's kind of expensive, hence why I made this thread.
