Solution
Sorry Julian, I see your MB is ASUS x99-a usb 3.1 however same applies.
I could not find your modules listed on the QVL for the MB either.
Only ones listed that have been tested are HX426C13PB2K4/16.

Is your MB the X99-E WS/USB 3.1. ?
If so I would check if the MB fully supports your DIMMs and have been tested.
Memory modules with frequency higher than 2133 MHz and its corresponding timing or the loaded XMP Profile is not the JEDEC memory standard. The stability and compatibility of higher frequency modules depends on the strength of the CPU’s IMC.

I could not find a kit of 2666MHz Hyperx fury DIMMs on the MB QVL so they may or may not work.

Try with just one DIMM in first slot and try switching them around. Also make sure they are seated correctly and pushed home. Clear CMOS and give it a try.
If consistently failing and DIMMs are correct then you will have to inspect CPU socket for bent pins.
