i7 6700 vs i5 6500 for soft.developers

Hello all. Getting my new PC setup. Activity: web-browsing, development (Visual Studio, IntellJ) + occasional casual gaming. Can get i5 6500 for almost 100 euros cheaper than 6700. Do you think I will lose noticeable level of performance if choose 6500 instead of 6700?

Do you have a build system that runs parallel builds? If so, an i7 with hyperthreading could allow you to build more code faster. Do you run VMs to do code testing? If so, then an i7 would be beneficial. If neither of those, then an i5 should be adequate. Get 16GB RAM and a larger SSD with the savings.
