So I have an interesting dilemma.

I recently purchased an I3 - 6100 for my first PC build. Along with it I intended to purchase an Asus H110M-C and 8GB Kingston DDR4 RAM. I bought what I thought was these items, however Amazon with their "Frequently purchased with..." gave me a Asus H110M-C D3, which doesn't support DDR4 memory.

So I was wondering whether I should return the motherboard and get the H110M-C, or return the RAM and purchase some DDR3L RAM instead.

What do you guys think?

Solution
Of course if you want to save money, then by all means return the RAM, and get DDR3 RAM. The prices of DDR3 RAM have really come down in price!

It all depends upon your budget.

Thanks for the response. I think I will return the motherboard
I already have an SSD w/ OS installed, and I don't really want to fork out for an M.2 SSD for faster storage as I'm building on a budget.
I'm also skeptical about the USB 3.1 price premium, as I don't think I'll benefit from the increase transfer speeds myself and other benefits associated with it.

I have heard that Skylake processors are susceptible with power issues when running with DDR3, so DDR3L sounds good.

Thanks for your help ;)

Update:

Decided to exchange motherboard for an Asus H110M-PLUS, which supports both DDR4 and USB 3.1. Happy with purchase and building my rig as we speak.
