I want to know if this hard drive I have sounds right. I just got this hard drive for my first PC build and I want to know if it's dead cause the bios can't recognise it, only my usb stick with that has my os I'm going to post a link of a video of me booting up my PC and my hard drive

I think you might have the click of death
Sounds like the disk head can't read the data and is retrying several times, that drive is dead i would think.

And after trying several time is just turns itself off so it wouldn't get damaged more right? which is why the HDD stops spinning after a minute

Unless it could possibly be a power issue, which i think is very unlikely, that drive is sadly dead

I just bought another one from Seagate and I probably get a refund for my WD one
