Hello! I have I need some help. So I'm 12 GB ram my PC installs in exactly six plates rami in triple channel. For several days I noticed that Windows shows me only 8 gb. (Windows 8.1 64bit) The point is that I do not realize when we only 8 GB because I have not looked in a while to see how many ram i hame.. (I know we all 12GB) for 2-3 months I took a cooler and a video card. i do not know if they have problem .. I even disabled onboard video card that I had read somewhere that they say would 'eat the memory' '. Interesting thing is that CPU-z shows me that I have 12 GB as and Everest, shows me that there are 6 pleasant. I attached a picture of an example of the CPU-Z. If you have any ideas or maybe someone has had such a problem expect tips. Thank you!

Solution
Like I mentioned before, If the cooler gets tightened down to the motherboard to tight then it can damage the traces in the motherboard. ( traces are the copper paths that carry the electricity to different parts if the board. ) Cheaper boards ( thinner ) are affected by this much easier than higher quality boards ( thicker ) because they tend to bend more and are not as rigid.

This is the most likely cause of the issue.

what do you see in the BIOS?
most likely something is wrong with some of the memory sticks. CPU-Z can see that a stick is present but it doesn't test it.
bios / windows actually test, and if a stick is not working right it will not be available to Windows to use.

so start moving / removing RAM sticks until you find the culprit.

ok, in this case, i think you memory works well together but you have an issue with one of the black + blue channels, could be the memory stick or the slot on the motherboard

First thing, the system is only reading 8 GB of ram.

Next you need to let the program run for a minimum of 3 passes. the first pass will go quickly the other two will take time. doing it over night is usually the best way to do it.

Starting to wonder if you have a bad channel on the motherboard. This can be verified by removing all ram sticks but 1 stick. Then test each slot one at a time with just 1 ram stick installed to see if there is an issue.

I tried all channels, and I noticed that the first 2 channels 1 and 2 do not work. (Opens PC and the monitor remains on standby) at 3 and 4 and functioned as 5-6.

Then either you have a bad channel or an issue with the memory controller in the CPU. You have 3 channels, 2 slots per channel. The only way to test this is either try a different CPU in your motherboard OR try your CPU in a different motherboard.

My guess is the motherboard is the issue.

only chances a cooler has to harm the memory is if the cooler is too heavy, In this case it is not, OR if the back plate got tightened to tight and damaged one of the traces in the motherboard itself.

If the traces were damaged the only fix is a new motherboard.
If the cooler was too heavy then the traces in the board can become damaged and motherboard replacement is required.
