Hey guys I just decided to use my old 5.1 from my DVD, along with it again. It works and all, but since it's old and not meant for PCs, I have to use workarounds, sort of. Here's the problem. It's not your everyday PC 5.1 surround, it's an old DVD. It had AUX out and I managed to find an AUX to PC jack, and that is the only way to connect it. Now, when I use Realtek HD to try it out, it doesn't play the Sub woofer, the center and the back speakers. The Sub woofer does play on youtube videos. I think the reason this is happening is because I use only 1 jack to go inside the PC audio jacks, while the following link is how it's supposed to be. https://img.reaper-x.com/blogs/2012/02/realtek-hd-audio-manager-remapped.png I only have the green one. Any tips? Is there a way to do what the following link explains to make 1 jack for all 5.1 surround? https://www.reaper-x.com/2012/02/13/how-to-remap-retasking-realtek-onboard-jacks-ports/

Im going to be completely honest and tell you that I dunno what is in or out. There is an AUX going from the DVD to the PC, that AUX at the end, the one that goes into the PC is a standard audio cable, like any other PC speaker, I think it was 3.5. And yes, a standalone DVD. Anyways, I did a bit of research and asked a lot of friends about this and got to a conclusion that with the cables I have right now, I can't have 3.1 from that DVD and surround. The main problem here is that ALL of the speakers go into the sub woofer first and then into the DVD and then into the PC and that is the only way they can work. So my friend is now going to look for some cable similar to this one https://www.aliexpress.com/store/product/3-5-mm-Dual-Audio-Line-Headset-Jack-Earphone-Splitter-One-In-Two-Couples-Lovers-Adapter/2171064_32669217040.html The idea being to use the AUX from the DVD into one of those and the other one for the 2 speakers and the center through a different plug (I don't know how it is called, English isn't my first language and I don't know much about audio and cables). One of the problems is, that as I mentioned the speakers can only be plugged into the sub woofer. That is because they don't have jacks at the end, instead they have a red and silver cable.

Ok .... near as I can figure .... you're trying to take the sound OUT from your computer and IN to your dvd player which will then play the sound through it's speakers. Hopefully your friend can get this working for you. If not, maybe post again with pics of the back or your dvd player and the sub woofer.

Yes, that is what I'm trying. I believe it will work if we can find the right cables and plugs and what not.
