My router is several years old. I have a Dell XPS 8500 tower computer. Wi-Fi is used only for a laptop; Computers are dragging a bit. Would a new router help? Current Wi-Fi adapters are b/g/n.

It is unlikely that a new router would change your WIRED connection, unless you have a high bandwidth WAN connection. Your DNS could be slow. Are you using Google DNS servers?

It may improve your WIFI, if you can use 5Ghz, but your current router doesn't support it.

Thanks, I am not using Google DNS servers as far as I know, butt I my knowledge is limited.

Since upgrading to Windows 10, booting up is mostly sluggish; buffering is sluggish some times; a lot of pauses before I can move the slide bar down the pages. I have over 760 GB of free memory.
