As i'm sure most of you know relative humidity rises at night. Is this bad for my computer though? Some people have said that humidity never changed, just the relative percentage to the temperature outside, since cooler air holds less moisture. either way, is it safe to open the windows?

Solution
Doesn't matter much, especially if the PC is running since everything inside the PC will be warmer than ambient, which makes condensation on components impossible.

If you chilled your PC to below dew point before opening the windows and letting saturated air in, then you may have issues with condensation inside the PC and corrosion.
If your computer is on it shouldn't be a problem. Water condenses on colder surfaces, not warmer ones.

Having lived in a 800 sq ft house in southern Louisiana with a 75g fish tank pumping the house full of humidity my computer was constantly subjected to 60% + over many years and I never had any problems. And it wasn't on all the time.
