My computer's motherboard rejected new parts?

So a little while ago I attempted to have a ZOTAC Gtx 960 installed into my computer along with a new power supply by GeekSquad. However my computer's motherboard rejected the new GPU because the GPU wasn't compatible with my motherboard. So I was wondering, is the brand of GPU the issue with the motherboard or are newer GPUs just too advanced for the motherboard? Also, what GPUs are compatible with my computer? Here's a link to my specs:

I'm don't know too much about computers, so I appreciate any help.

It's probably due to an old BIOS or HP just never updated for newer hardware. On prebuilts they generally just keep the BIOS to parts they install or sell for upgrades. They don't want you buying other folks parts, they prefer you just buy a new PC of theirs.
