I just got a gtx 1070 8b and it is getting bad fps in games i have a asrock z87 extream3 motherboard i have the gtx 1070 in the 2nd Pcie slot on my old card i had it in the 5th Pcie slot and it worked fine could having the gpu in this slot be causing the problem?

I think you've got it in a slower slot where it is at the moment.
Try it in the same slot where you had your previous GPU card.

Did you install latest drivers? Can you see that in device manager? Also try to reinstall GPU drivers completely.
