So the motherboard I have decided on is a ASRock B150 Gaming K4 ATX LGA1151 Motherboard, and my CPU is a Intel Core i5-6500 3.2GHz Quad-Core Processor. I was thinking about getting a seperate cooling for the cpu.

First off, is it even needed at all for my build?

I chose the Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO due to its price and high ratings, but will this fit?
Or is there a better cooler? Someone told me it might not fit, and recommended the CRYORIG H7, but it is 35 dollars more so....

Also does thermal paste matter what company you get it from? I chose the ARCTIC MX4 4g Thermal Paste.

Thanks for the help with everything!

If you don't live in an extremely hot environment (Arabian desert), the stock cooler will be fine. Intel isn't going to supply a crap cooler for a CPU they are guaranteeing.
Most modern thermal pastes are competitive as to quality. There may be a degree or two between the best and the worse. That is, as long as you buy a brand name and not some 3rd party crap. MX4 is very good. But the thermal paste that comes with the stock cooler is also good and does not need to be changed.

Stock coolers are fine on the 6500. But an aftermarket cooler will give you lower temps so upgrading isn't a bad idea. Whether or not the 212 Evo will fit depends on what case you are using. MX4 Thermal paste is fine for your uses. I've used it before and it works great.

The Cryorig H7 is a great cooler, but right now is way overpriced considering it is normally around $35-$40.

But if you haven't bought the cooler yet, I'd probably just stick with the stock.
