I have the following hardware:

Asus Z170-E Mobo
EVGA NEX 750W PSU
EVGA GTX 1060 GPU
Intel i5 6600K CPU
Corsair H60 Cooler

So far, I've had all sorts of errors. I have no display. I took everything but the CPU and cooler out, tried to boot, and got one short beep followed by 2 long beeps repeating. I put the GPU and 2 RAM sticks back in and eventually got it to go with only one beep. However, I still don't have a display. The boot device led is lit red, but the fans and everything are spinning. The RAM sticks are in the recommended spots (I tried others and couldn't get it to start and got the 1/2 beep combo). I'm pretty stuck at this point. I have my monitor plugged into an HDMI cable connected to my MOBO (not sure if that matters). Tomorrow my DVI cable will come in so I will try plugging into the GPU. I also have tried with/without a keyboard and mouse if that matters. I've also reset the CMOS twice by taking out the battery for 5 minutes. At first I couldn't even get the system to start again (no fans or anything) so I shut it down and tried re plugging in the power into the motherboard. Any suggestions I can try? I've gone through the guide on here and that didn't seem to fix anything.

Also I should mention that my DVD drive and HDD are currently unplugged. I somehow managed to damage 2 of the SATA plugs on the motherboard, but I'm having the same issues before/after this happened. I just used 2 other ports but they are for the moment unplugged.

After fiddling around even more I was able to get it to boot by only having a RAM stick in the B2 slot. No idea why that didn't work the first time around but I was able to get into BIOS and it recognized my 2 SATA drivers. Once I plugged the GPU back in I got the same errors so I'm guessing it will go away once I get the DVI to plug into the GPU. I didn't realize that it would cause issues if I plugged my HDMI into the motherboard instead of the GPU with it plugged in. Hopefully there won't be any issues once I try that.
