I've been using this PC for years and something weird have just happened to my PC. All in a sudden, my PC became slower and takes longer to boot. I didn't do any major software or hardware change to my PC. I have also checked that the CPU and RAM usage is normal. I have scanned the PC as well with Avast and found no virus. The most annoying thing is some games and software which used to work fine became laggy and kinda freezing at times(and not that much games actually, i'm referring to games such as Rise of Nations, Medieval 1 : Total War and Sid Meier's Civilization IV, mostly older games). There's also nothing strange to see once i run msconfig to see what is running at startup. Everything is normal. The hardware also seems to be normal. But the performance became slower. Anyway, it's also unlikely that the PC is infected by a virus since i don't even use it for internet(i post this through my laptop)and i don't share it with anyone else.

What do you think could be the cause, folks? Any solution for this?

Thanks

(Almost forgot. I'm using Windows 7 anyway)
