What is needed to mirror my Laptop screen to my Sharp LCD TV. I am looking at buying a Miracast dongles. But I like to know if there is any thing else I need. My TV is not smart TV. The picture shows that the Miracast dongle goes into the HDMI input of the TV. So it is acting as the receiver. Am I right ? If I am right, my laptop will be the sender. My laptop is running WIN 10. what is the hardware and software needed on my laptop for it to transmit the signal to the dongle ?
I have an Android TV box now connected to my TV. I can see a Miracast App installed. I have yet to find the instruction on how to configure the App. Is that Miracast App the software allow the Android TV box to act as the sender of the Miracast signal or the receiver or both ? If that software allow the box the act as the receiver, then do I still need to buy the dongle ?

Works with ANY miracast device including android

For the sender, you need to have miracast compatible device, so basically any intel laptop with Windows 10 or relatively recent android device should work. You do not need any additional software or hardware for it! (unless your laptop isn't capable of miracast, but you can check that in win...

Does MS dongle works with Android phone. Android laptop, iphone or other devices. I prefer not ot lock in with any proprietary solution. Please correct me if I am wrong. Dongles I have read about so far are attached to TV. So they are just receiving device. What is the requirement for the sender ? I am sure some kind of software or hardware must be installed for sending the Miracast signal.
