Gtx 6GB or Amd480 8GB???

Solution
GTX 1060. It preforms better if you can spend the extra cash. Only thing that you'd want the AMD for is Vulkan and some DX 12 games, the 1060 will still beat the RX 480 in other titles. DX 11 is currently most used, so I'm sure the extra FPS would benefit you.

I posted this just a few mins ago, same question in another thread:

It all depends what you're going to play.
I had a Nitro+ 480 GB, it was nice, well built, but I decided to send it back and get a KFA2 1060. Why? The 480 was a real oven in my case, and it would draw power like a beast. Over 200W when playing, and the blower would send the hot air to my HDDs, they would get 10° higher than normal because of that (42° just because of the card)
Now, the 1060 goes up to 72° and the consumption stays below 105W all the time. My HDDs stay at 32° when I play.
480 is good with games that use Vulkan, but there aren't that many around. I think both cards do well with DX12 so it shouldn't be a matter of choice.

AMD aimed a bit too high with the 480. They tried to impress, raised the GPU a bit too much, and now they're having problems with the heat and the consumption of all the cards...
