Hello Everyone,

I have been researching motherboards and i'm a bit confused. I am looking for some advice/recommendations for a board to suit my setup.

I do not play games, I use my computer for general use + video editing, the video work is why I am upgrading my computer to something more capable.

I already have an i7 6700k, I bought this a while ago due to a great offer.

Ram I haven't purchased yet, but will likely be something like DDR4 G.skill ripjaws V 3000 - 3400mhz, or Corsair Vengence. I haven't looked into ram a lot yet, but it will be something similar to the above.

After looking at motherboards I'm not sure I need all the features of a 'gaming' board, but I do want to be able to OC my CPU and ram to get the most out of my setup.
I would also like to have some good audio - some boards seem to boast a higher signal to noise ratio or higher quality DAC.

Apart from those features, I don't require any dual GPU setup or anything else.

I was looking at the Gigabyte Z170X Gaming-3, or Gaming-5 but I can't really see a difference in the two, besides price. Or could I get away with something else like the lower end Z170-HD3? I'm just not sure of the OC capability of a lower end board.

Overall, it would be great if someone could please suggest a motherboard to suit my setup.

Thanks!

3000-3200 is the sweetspot, , the GB Gaming 3 or 5 would be a good choice, might look at the Asus Z170-A or their Pro Gaming, I've done multiple builds with both, great mobos ;)
