Skylake xeons run on a different chipset than the i5's. Unlike haswell where you could take for instance a xeon 1231v3 and just drop it into place on an h97 or z97 motherboard, skylake xeons run chipsets like the c232 and c236. It would be cheaper to buy a 6700 or 6700k i7 and use it on your existing motherboard, assuming you have the 6600k already (and working with most likely a z170 board).

Something similar to the 1231v3 would be the 1230v5 or 1270/1275v5 which by then runs the same price as a 6700k. Being relatively new I doubt you'll find a good used price on ebay.

Unless you're referring to one of the much older xeons people have been buying like the e5-2670. Then you'll need to pair it with an x79 lga 2011 motherboard (not...

Unless you're referring to one of the much older xeons people have been buying like the e5-2670. Then you'll need to pair it with an x79 lga 2011 motherboard (not 2011v3). x79 motherboards are running around $200-400 on ebay and $300-500 new. For that price you may as well grab a 6700k and use it with your existing setup unless you're doing heavy video editing and need 8c/16t. For what it is, it's relatively 'cheap' though not 'cheap' by comparison.
