Hello everyone.

I bought my notebook (HP Pavilion G7 2210-ED) a couple years ago, but nowadays it is extremely slow. Booting takes a good couple of minutes and starting up several programs just takes forever. I want to get rid of that. I have tried a lot of things to make it faster but to no avail.

I would like to swap out the current HDD that is in the notebook (750 gigabytes, 5400 RPM) for a 500GB SSD. The problem is that I couldn't identify the kind of cable that is being used to connect my HDD to the motherboard so a "normal" SSD wouldn't fit. And thus I would like to know what kind of SSD's would fit inside of my laptop. I don't think SSD's like the Samsung Evo 850 would fit, so what kind of model of SSD's would I be looking for? Any recommendations?

Here's an image of the connection:

And this is an image of the connection to the current HDD:

I hope you guys can help me out!

I checked that with the SSD that I have in my Desktop PC, and you are right. I always thought that you needed 2 seperate cables to go into a HDD/SSD (Power and connection to the mobo) and thus I thought a normal SSD wouldn't work, but apparently that cable in my laptop is both. I'll go looking for a good SSD! Thank you for your help
