I'm thinking of buying a GTX1070 GPU (Gigabyte's Gaming G1 or EVGA's SC Gaming), but I'm currently using an LGA775 motherboard with a Core2 Quad Q9550 CPU.

I know the CPU will bottleneck the card, but I want to wait before upgrading the system. I was wondering if I might have compatibility issues.

I couldn't find any info on Gigabyte's or EVGA's page, so I would appreciate any help.

I have run several UEFI BIOS cards (AMD and Nvidia) on legacy BIOS systems with no issues. Both LGA 775 and AM2+/AM3. Nvidia is pretty good about their cards working on both platforms. So I would say you will be fine. My Q9550/Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3P works well with both my GTX 960 FTW and my GTX 970s. Both cards are UEFI BIOS.

I've only had one no-go. That was a UEFI Powercolor R7-370 that failed to be recognized by an Intel DP45SG LGA 775 board. But my UEFI Nvidia cards worked fine on that board. So go figure.
