Is My Upgrade Worth It?

I plan to upgrade my pc next March (because that is my birthday). I plan to get a Xeon E5 2670 and a Intel DX79TO Extreme Series LGA 2011 MoBo. I do things like video editing, photoshop, 3D animations, and play games. I don't want any other cpu, I just want to know will this last at least 2-4 years, or just about like 5 months and then I'll have to upgrade again? Sorry I accidentally selected best answer on my previous thread. I just want to know if it will last at least 2-4 years.

Worth is something only YOU can decide.

Xeon and other Intel chips are warranted for 3 years, it should last at least that long.

It is very good for multithreaded apps that can keep all threads busy.
But not so good for gaming.
The single thread passmark rating is only 1610; that is what games need most.

If you are going to buy a motherboard anyway, I suggest that a new gen skylake I7-6700k will perform about the same for editing and such, but be considerably better for gaming with a single thread rating of 2332.
In 5 months, we may see kaby lake i7-7700K announced.
New, skylake should cost you less.
Used, perhaps you can get a sufficiently good deal on the xeon if gaming is not that important.
