I want to update my gpu driver 347.88 to 372.54.
Does 372.54 driver update for Nvidia GTX 960 Safe and Bug free ?

Solution
well should be safe , but nothing is bug free ?

theres a few forums that cover the drivers and get feedback on them just look them over and decide ?

I still use a older driver [355.82] on this 980ti but I have newer and older drivers downloaded to test out or use , but that one seems to do all I ask for now so its what you find works best for you and your system and needs old or new .

all you can do is try them out and see if good keep it if you see a issue over your old driver then go back to it

Thats the driver im using for my 760, it works fine. You are running a more than 2 year old driver, you should absolutely upgrade your drivers. Like said above nothing is bug free, but that driver as well as the vast majority of nvidia drivers have worked just fine for me. And im not sure why it would be unsafe, it not going to have a virus in it if you get it from nvidia, if thats what you're asking.

Well if the OP plays games with that 960 that came out after march 2015 I would certainly say it does matter, if they want the card to perform as well as it can.

well ya , I would not go with a driver below the cards release date for sure . I guess my point was over reaching ..

just look over any release notes to see compatibility or known or fixed issues on each one you may see the driver you got may not have a new issue a newer driver now has or something

the driver he got now is for a 960 anyway so its still fine to use

thing is what works well for you , me or the guy down the road may not for him in some way . thatys why you grab a driver and try it out, test it and see

I just got the 372.54 downloaded and may give it a try next rainy day I got time to fool around
