the title pretty much says it. i have a green gp530a-eu and was wondering if it'll be enough for a R9 270X hawk gpu, my cpu is an old athlon x2 270

Solution
520 watt would be enough for that GPU, my only issue would be the quality of your PC, I've never heard of them and I googled them and they don't look reputable to me in any way. Just saying as you could have a 500 watt crap PSU, that can only supple 380 watts of constant power.

As far as i'm concerned Green makes some fine psus and this particular one gp530a is 80plus something. what i'm worried is that the 270X needs two 6pin connectors and my psu only has one 6pin connector i have to use a converter and i've heard that could cause problems

Yes that can cause issues and having it 80plus does not always mean every thing. Their are also tiers of PSU. A Tier 1 bronze rated 500 watt is better quality and more reliable.e than a tier 4 gold rated. The efficiency of the power supply does not reflect on the quality of the PSU. You can pick up god awful brands like Alpine or CIT gold rated 600 watt for like £30 and they would probably damage your components.
