For a 6700k (overclocked to a max of 4.5) what cooler would anyone recommend?

212 EVO seems good; is a Noctua D15 overkill?

Thanks.

If you really want to OC and have a quiet PC, a 140mm CPU fan with a pretty large heatsink is a good choice. My cooler does a pretty good job and isn't far behind the D15, and it's pretty damn silent too compared to a 212.

But here's the thing: it all depends on how good your CPU is. It might even not be able to get 4.5GHz at all. Or it might need a very high voltage to run 4.5GHz. So it's always a gamble. If you can spare the cash for a higher end aircooler, go for it. They often have better mounting systems (really like Noctuas mounting systems), are whisper quiet and aren't that much worse than good AIO watercoolers at all.

I'd say go for the one I have or a D15 if you can spare the cash and know it will fit in your case (mine and the D15 have no RAM clearance issues).
