Current PC:
CASE: Rosewill Challenger (3 Rosewill Case Fans @ 75CFM)
CPU: Intel Core i5 4670K Haswell OC @ 4.0GHz with Noctua NH-D14
MOBO: ASRock Z87 Extreme4
GPU: EVGA GTX 760 SC (2GB)
RAM: 4 x G.Skill 2GB DRR3 1333mhz (PC3 10600)
HDD: Samsung Spinpoint F3 500GB 7200RPM 16Mb 3GB/s
PSU: OCZ ModXStream Pro 600W
MONITOR: VS238H-P Black 23" 2ms @ 1080p 60hz

What would be the order in that you would upgrade my PC? I was thinking a GTX 1070 and an SSD for sure. What would you upgrade? I have $400-650 to play with. Thanks in advance.

A 1070 is overkill for a 60Hz 1080p monitor. You can save money and get a 1060 (factory overclocked variant from the likes of MSI, Gigabyte, ASUS, and EVGA) which is the sweet spot for ensuring 60FPS sustained gaming in all but the new Dues Ex (the new Crysis in GPU demands). Also I'd upgrade to more and faster memory. More games these days are recommending 16GB RAM. You can sell your current 4x2GB sticks.

So here's what I'd do if I were in your shoes:

1) Buy a 6GB 1060............$250 (approx. depending on model, might have trouble finding in stock)
2) Buy 16GB 2133 DDR3....$80 (Corsair, G.SKILL at NewEgg)
3) Buy a 1TB SSD..............$300 (Samsung EVO at NewEgg)

Total: $630 minus whatever you can sell your current memory for

Your CPU and motherboard (Z87?) will continue to be fine for a while for gaming purposes.

Answer to dan's comment: A new psu is deffinitaley not important. 600w is more than enough, unless your planning for big sli's or huge overclocking.

Answer to 10tacle's comment: I totally agree that a 1070 is overkill for 1080p. So if you are not planning on buying a 1440p screen than I deffinately would get a 1060, as it is "60 fps sweetspot". On what model to get, I always recommend EVGA, Gigabyte, ASUS and sometimes msi.

Your cpu is really good, so that isn't in the picture of uppgrading.

Ram could be uppgraded if you want to multitask more and maybe stream or play high demmanding games like gta v and so on.

An ssd is always nice, but I see no reason for u to buy a 1tb ssd if you are planning on keeping ur HDD.

CONCLUSION: I would get a 1060 for that 60 fps 1080p gaming.
If you want a little more preformance, 16 gigs ram is nice, but not NEEDED.
An ssd is also not NEEDED, but can be noce to speed up the loading times!

Hope I could help! Have a good day! :D

I was assuming the PSU was either a troll or a misunderstanding. I was just wondering if the GTX 1060's was worth it or should I just go with the GTX 1070 since I have the money anyway. I have one little problem with installing new ram. I have to get this giantic cpu cooler out of my case again. It covers up all 4 RAM slots. Also, was considering a 500GB SSD since I mostly stick with certain program and games anyway. I don't horde and I have fast enough internet to redownload them. I even have 200mbps download available if I wanted to.

Which GTX 1070 would you recommend if I do just consider buying that?

Im an not the best with different models of grafic cards, but I would stick to the manufacturers: EVGA, Gigabyte, ASUS and maybe msi. I dont know much about palit and gainward, but they are cheaper and in some cases that isnt always good.

:D
