System Upgrade Suggestions

Hello everyone, just looking for suggestions on what my next few upgrades should be. I primarily play WOW, Overwatch and Paragon and just want to run everything smoothly. Below is my current setup.

Motherboard: MSI 760GMA-P34 (FX)
Processor: AMD FX 8320E
Graphics Card: Nvida Geforce GTX 1060
Ram: 16 GB DDR3 (2 8gb sticks)
Power Supply: EVGA 600B 600W 80+ Bronze


Have a 240 GB SSD and 2 TB HDD
Monitor is an AOC G2460PF 24.0" 144Hz Monitor

Assume motherboard is likely the next upgrade but would like to hear your thoughts. Thank you.

Your assumption is right. The FX platform doesn't have the single-threaded performance for some of the games you like so it can't keep up with the GTX 1060. Overclocking could help, but I would not advise it with that motherboard.

If you want to upgrade the obvious choice is either i5 or i7. Preferably a "K" CPU so you can future proof yourself a bit with overclocking. Spending money a quality motherboard will pay off in the long run as well.

Waiting for AMD's new Zen lineup is also an option. These should be coming out around January.
