Toss up between Asus RoG Maximus VIII Hero, Gigabyte z170x G7, and some MSI motherboard. The main things I'm looking for is good audio (just for headphones) and overclocking ability. I read MSI has a very a hit or miss reputation with MOBOs. the VIII Hero had a lot of problems with memory when I read newegg reviews and I have no idea about Gigabyte's line.
Which of these are the best for z170/6700K OC?

I've got the Hero and no problems what so ever (and I'm hard on my rigs, I use them for testing components all the time) - I've run about 14 sets of DRAM on mine (ranging from 2666-3600 and ranging from 16-48 GB. Numerous GPUS including 980s in SLI and 290X in XFire, up to the 1080 Strix OC, a half dozen CPU coolers. OCs well, runs cool, great BIOS....think you'd be very happy with it
