My friend bought computer parts without a disc drive for windows is there a way I can connect his ssd to my pc download windows on it without downloading it on my drive and then put the ssd back into his pc?

Solution
No. He can install Windows 7, which I assume that he wants to use from your thread tag, using either the Windows 7 USB stick tool from HERE or by using Rufus, which is my personal favorite. You can create his USB stick on your machine with his installer disk.

If he wants to test his parts ASAP, he can create a Mint Live Linux USB that he can boot from. The easiest way to build that USB stick is to use Unetbootin, and you can create that stick on your machine with the free Windows executable version that will automatically download Mint Live if you select it as the OS for the stick.
