Was looking at the Cooler Master Hyper 612 v.2 for an i5-6600k gaming build.

Although it will be my first build, I want to try some stable CPU overclocking, some light research dictates 4.0 GHz will be my go-to clock but this may change. For this, I want a good cooler for my CPU, although I have been previously impressed with an AIO cooler I had, but it appears air coolers seem better value for money price to performance wise.

Will my Cooler Master be sufficient enough to cool my overclocked CPU or will I have to go for something a little more high-end? For the most part, I have no limitations on price but would prefer something good for the price to performance.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Your 612 is more than enough for that. You could hit 4ghz under an Intel stock cooler - in fact, I've hit as much as 4.5ghz with safe temperatures using Intel's stock cooler, as long as I didn't want to leave Prime95 running all day.

If I was to buy the Cryorig H7, purely off aesthetics would I be losing much power compared to the 612. I am very uninformed when it comes to cooling, as I can't see the difference between all the products.

Ok, looks like I will go with this for my build. Thanks for your help. :)
