I would like to upgrade my gaming pc's gpu. I currently have a gtx 610 and I am planning to buy a gtx 750 ti. My current specs are:
-Core i5 6400 processor
-Gigabyte Sniper b7 motherboard
-16 gb of RAM
-EVGA Supernova 850 B2 power supply

Is it the right thing to improve to get a better performance?

absolutely, yes you are on the right track, your power supply is good enough for a titan x even

My budget is of around 200$, my screen resolution is 1600x900 and I play Counter strike, Skyrim, Rocket League, Civilization V and Total war shogun. These are the games I play already but would like a better performance, there are games I have but I cant play because of my pc and would like to play like: Witcher 3, of kings and men, witcher 2, Rust, Ark: Survival evolved and I want to be ready for Bannerlord.

I also wanted to buy some other stuff like a nice keyboard or something like that. But I dont mind spending it all on a 960 or 950.

Would the RX470 be compatible with my motherboard? I have also heard that Nvidia works better with intel, but thats just me.

How much is it? is it compatible with my motherboard? Is it ok for a 1600x900 resolution?

The 470 is compatible with any motherboard since all gpus use the same generic pci-e express cards

Also there is no brand bias like "Intel-Nvidia only"... PC hardware like graphic cards are completely intercompatible and flexible and will work great on any hardware combination....
Cpu speed is the only limiting factor for a gpu.... If you've got a fast cpu then you're good to go

But will the drivers install on windows 10? I have seen in a few amazon reviews that the drivers dont work on windows 10.

the rx 480 and gtx 1060 trade punches back and forth... they perform very similarly

hardware specs wise,
while the rx 480 provides more gflops/sec
more meory
more bandwidth
better texture rate
more shader units
more texture map units

the 1060 has
higher clockspeed
higher pixel rate
16 more ROPs
and uses 80w which is super low when compared to the already low 150w rx 480

between the 1060 and the 480 it ll comes to brand preference coz they are the same.....

a few years ago someone would claim that amd has shitty drivers but amd upped their game and now driver issues are virtually non existant

its upto you to decide.... just throw a dice... :)

Which version of the 1060 are you comparing to the 480? Unlike the 480, where the only difference between the 8GB and 4GB version is the VRAM. The 3GB version of the 1060 has a cut down GPU, giving it less processing power than the 6GB, a bit like what the 470 is to the 480. So always be careful when comparing the 1060 to mention which version.
