Is there an adapter for M.2 port to USB 3.0?

Hi,

I have a mini HP Elitedesk PC and need more high-speed USB 3.0 ports. I opened up the PC to find two M.2 ports that are not used. There are no PCIe slots or anything else. I know this is an odd problem, but is there at least an M.2 to PCI 1x adapter where I could use a PCI USB expansion board?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

EDIT: I found this, but it is 50 whole dollars! If you know of a better alternative, I would be happy to know!

If you only need more port for a larger number of connections, then I'd highly suggest a usb 3.0 hub connected to one of your ports.

If you need a higher bandwidth for whatever reason, then you should be looking for a more complex solution like tapping into the m.2 ports.

M.2 is either wired in as pcie or sata. First check to see which your motherboard supports if you can find out. It's probably sata for that pc but you should try to make sure before continuing.

What seems to be the problem is having two of the same device(in this case USB cameras) on the USB Bus screws everything up. I don't have more or equal USB Buses to webcams so I need to figure something out. The weird thing is that I went over to my Intel motherboard that is 4 years old that had USB 3.0 and it was able to handle two webcams. The HP EliteDesk 705 G1 is, unfortunately, an AMD machine with AMD drivers installed for their USB Buses. If only the drivers were Intel, would the webcams probably work. Any ideas on how to hack around this problem?
