Hi,

So I'm building a PC right now and I'm having issues with powering my GPU correctly. I have a Sapphire R9 390X and am confused how to connect it to the psu. I have a cable coming from the PSU that ends with two (6+2) pins, so I'm wondering whether this will be sufficient to power the gpu or should I use an additional cable, which is also identical to the one previous.

ps my psu is a CX750M

thanks.

I have the the CX750M (Cue the bleating from those who believe they're crap) powering two Sapphire R9 280x, which also require 2 x 8 pin connections. You can do the following:

Use the one PCI-E cable to connect to both 8 pin blocks on your GPU or use both PCI_E cables and connect one plug from each cable to each port on your GPU....it really doesn't matter as the PSU only has a single 12v rail, so all 12v power comes from that one rail regardless of how that power is supplied cable wise to your system.

the PCIe cables are fully modular, I'm just asking whether I should use two cables or one cable. Each of those cables end with two 6+2 pin connecters. Wouldn't using one cable go through a lot of heat with a 300 Watt gpu?
