I've gone through a bunch of threads on various forums trying to find a solution to my issue but haven't had any luck.
I have an Intel G3258, and an Asus H81M-A motherboard.
If I modify the clock speed in the bios in any way, the computer refuses to boot into Windows 7. It gets to the "Starting Windows" screen and immediately reboots.
I even tried using the Asus Power and Performance software, which has an "extreme" setting which I believe kicks the clock speed up to 3.6ghz (as i noticed a change in the bios I didn't make after clicking it), which also caused the PC to crash.
There has to be something I'm missing, but I can't figure out what it is.
