how to put password in Seagate Backup Plus Slim 1TB hard disk

Solution
I'm posting from a Linux system this morning but try right clicking the device and go to Properties. If Security is one of the tabs, go there and see if you can set a password.

I'll update this post later when I'm on a Windows machine.
First off, we don't offer password help here because we aren't able to check up on any proof of ownership.

Secondly, you need to start out by knowing the password and then try to get into the data on that device. It will then ask for the password.

If you don't know it, you won't get in because passwords are designed to protect data. If it's your data, you'd be worried if someone else knew your password.

I think the enquiry is the same as mine: how do you set up a password security on a Seagate drive, in Windows.

I read the enquiry as if there is not yet a password on that device.

It is easy to do on a Mac, but now I need to do it on a Windows computer.
