how to install a usb 3.0 port on my motherboard which is hp 3047h. I need help please! by the way guys i do not know anything about motherboards. i have a usb 3.0 harddrive so i wanted usb 3.0 slot so i can get extra speed.THANKS in advance!

If your motherboard does not have a usb 3.0 port then you wont be able to take advantage of the speed. It isn't possible to simply add a usb 3.0 port to your motherboard.

You can still use your hard drive with your motherboard although at reduced speeds

Sure... but if you would like to get a new motherboard youll probably also need a new CPU since its likely that your current CPU wont fit into the same socket as newer motherboards.

You'll also need to decide if you want an Intel or AMD CPU and which one exactly since they all have different sockets. If you dont know enough to make a decision then go with this...

GIGABYTE GA-H110M - has usb 3.0 about $50
Intel Core i3 6100 - a little over $100
