Is there any way to fix a CPU fan header?

I switched out my cooler suspecting that the stock intel had broken since the fans stopped spinning. Turns out my new cooler has the same issue. So the CPU cooler is hooked to SYS_FAN now.

I had to disconnect the rear vent fan to make this work. I want to get my CPU_FAN going again. Is there any way to fix it?

Hi,

Of corse. Do You have the CPU-cooler fans connected to the motherboard: labeled CPU- Fan-connector?
It could be that one of the cable connectors is broken out, meaning that is has no contact to the male-pin on the motherboard connector.

Example and pay close attention: where it says CPUFAN or similar.

Take a look in your motherboard manual, make sure that all connectors are properly inserted in the right places.

Then start the computer, enter Bios Setup, just enter - the CPU fan/s should be running.

I tested 2 different fans off the CPU_Fan header. Neither spun up. I know exactly where the CPU Fan header is and it is not functional. I've tried reseating the 4pin over and over and nothing. So the CPU fan header is most likely broken.

The question is, is there a way to fix it?
