Melted plastic in power supply and making bad smell

After 6 months of use without any problems randomly i noticed a weird metallic/plastic melting smell and i took apart my computer and found melted white plastic in multiple parts of my psu and it makes this smell which is very unpleasant and it may cause damage to my computer any help will be useful.

you can tell us ur PSU specs, but that's not really needed considering we know its already faulty. Don't use it again. It could damage your other components. Get a more reliable one with the same amount of wattage.

Can you post a picture? The smell tells me something is wrong, but the "melted white plastic" might be the stuff used by the manufacture to hold or insulate various parts. Take a look at the pictures in this jonnyguru post:

If that's what you are seeing, as ugly as it looks, it is in there from the manufacture and is a form of silicon or other insulating material.

As has been said, I would NOT continued to use that PSU regardless of what the white stuff is, until you find the source of the burning smell.
And as Nnokalad asked: Please post the exact brand and model of your PSU.
