Okay I want to build a rig capable of playing starcraft 2 mainly but I also want it to be able to perform with other games reasonably. I am hoping you guys could give me some feedback on whether my sytem would work well or not at all as I'm not 100% on the comparability of certain pc parts. I believe it will work well enough for what I what it for but I also would like the ability to upgrade it later on. I stuck with a 600 dollar budget. I'll list the components please give me any feedback you can good or bad on what I'm doing.

Core i3-6100 3mb 3.7gHz

Pc power and cooling fatal1ty gaming 550w 80+ performance power supply

Crucial Ballistix Sport LT 8GB Single DDR4 2400 MT/s (PC4-19200) DIMM 288-Pin - BLS8G4D240FSE (Red)

EVGA GeForce GTX 950 2GB SSC GAMING, Silent Cooling Graphics Card 02G-P4-2957-KR

MSI Gaming Intel Skylake H110 LGA 1151 DDR4 USB 3.1 Micro ATX Motherboard

Zalman ATX Mid Tower PC Case Z3 Plus-W

This is gonna be my first build so all advice is welcome. And I also included the OS in the 600 dollar budget.

Here is what I recommend you get, much better performance and better value.
The best performance you can get with that budget imo.

Hey,
Put your computer parts into PC Partpicker (https://pcpartpicker.com) as this will check the compatibility of your build.
As for games, google "game name" recommended system requirements. This should show what you need for any game.

Hope this helped :)

Hey again,
When it comes to ram or memory I would recommend buying two 4GB ram cards rather than one 8gb. This is assuming you don't want to upgrade from 8GB (eventually) if you do you will need to get another exactly the game 8GB card (totalling to 16gb). The more lower card you can get for example I have four 4GB cards (16gb) as this is better. That being said the motherboard you posted only has two HDDR4 (memory) slots. So if that's what you wanted you would need to change motherboard.

Are you buying all these parts or are some being reused? The PSU is very old and should be retired. Was ok when it came out, near junk status now. The 950 is ok, but you should try to get a better/bigger GPU. Been awhile since I looked at pricing so if the 950 is a lot cheaper or the budget doesn't allow for anything more then it's not bad. But you might find the 950 lacking after awhile.

Chug, is possible to drop the modular of that PSU, and get one of slightly better quality? I know it's not a fire trap but I personally would rather give up having a modular PSU, dump that last $14 into something that isn't a CX, CS, etc PSU.
