HyperX Savage 2400MHz performing worse than Fury 1866MHz!

Hello!

I have an A10-5800K APU and I've ran it with a 1866MHz 8GB kit for a while, then I decided I'll buy a 2400MHz 8GB stick to swap it out so I can later have another stick if I need it. I looked up a few tests and they all showed improvement over the 1866MHz so I bought the Savage but once I swapped the sticks, set the O.C.D.P. (I guess it's the XMP equivalent of AMD or something?) something was not right. It has 2 modes, Profile 1 with 2400MHz, which just crashes after a few seconds into a game, and Profile 2, with 2133MHz setting, which performs HALF, yes, HALF the frames of the 1866MHz kit! I tinkered with the timings, all the way from like 9-10-10-28 to it's recommended 11-13-13-30 and it still isn't getting better. I managed to get it right about a week ago, but I tested a used memory kit for my friend and after I put back my own stick it went back to bad again.

Any ideas? Please remember, this is an APU we're talking about and it relies heavily on memory speeds, I'm not tinkering just for fun, but instead for better performance.

Well as mentioned, your in single channel and also it's an AMD CPU which isn't real strong on the MC, that's why best to go dual and get all the boost you can ;)

Is it normal to lose 20-40 fps in some games because it's single channel and has higher memory clock? Because I honestly think this is weird.

Dual channel can provide a 10-15% increase over single channel mode. The model #s of the DRAM aren't available but appears the 2400 is a CL11, which would equate to about a CL9 set of 1866 which is a slight increase, so yes would see a drop in performance

Since it's crashing at 2400 MHz, I set it to 2133 with these timings and it's stable but still worse than those sticks were. For an example, in CS:GO, I had mostly 60-80 frames, now it even goes to 40 or 30, maxing out at 70 or so. LoL was about 90 fps on max settings, now it's only 54 at most.
