Suddenly dedicated and integrated GPUs are running at the same time

Hi,

I have a Dell laptop Inspiron 7559, with Nvidia GeForce 960M 4GB and Intel core-i5 6300HQ - 4 core processor with Intel HD 530 graphics. And until now, when I'm playing a game, the 960M is mostly maxed at 99%, integrated is 0-5%, depending if chrome is running. Around 3 days ago I bought Witcher 3, let it download from steam for night and in control panel under power options selected maximum power instead of Balanced power profile, so it would not shut down during download. The next day, I set Balanced mode again, and started playing.

All of a sudden, both my GPUs were maxed at 95-99%. At first, I thought maybe the intel is used as Physx processor, but then I started GTA V and suddenly there were also both GPUs maxed, and I don't think that GTA V uses Physx that much.
Now it is so in all my games, and even with all other programs closed. I think I didn't change any other settings regarding power management.
I like the performance boost in witcher, but in GTA V my 960M is from 85-95% instead of 99% as before. So now I don't know if in GTA both GPUs are working together and Intel is slowing down Nvidia, or what else. I also don't know how to turn it off to messure the fps impact.

So my question is, what is happening? And can I turn it off to see what effect it has?

Thank you.

Hi, so today I have finaly found out why is the integrated GPU running at the same time. It turned out that it was a miner virus, so the integrated was maxed all the time, gamind not related. Strange is, that my antivirus didn't find it, nor have other people's, as I have read somewhere. So if someone is suspecting a miner, I found it with Microsoft program Process Explorer whitch can show GPU usage for processes, as normal task manager does not have this option. Lastly, the name of the virus was steam.exe. It was not in startup processes, it just somehow got started everytime.

It seems like the Intel is acting as a bottleneck for the NVidia. If you want to change priority over what should be used 1st in high intensity tasks, use NVidia 3d Control Panel and set it to your 960m(then restart). You could also use the BIOS to change that, but try if the other solution doesn't work.
